Take the Thurn
Long gravel route to Kitzbühel and back over the Thurn Pass.
From the village square in Saalbach uphill towards Spielberghaus, the route leads with a rapid gravel descent towards Eiserne Hand to Fieberbrunn and following the bike path continues to St. Johann in Tirol. Accompanied by the panorama of the Wilder Kaiser, continue to the chamois town Kitzbühel, which invites you to a coffee break. Partly on bike paths, partly on the road, it goes over Jochberg (whose municipal area borders Saalbach Hinterglemm by the way) further to the pass height at Thurn, the border between Tyrol and Salzburg. From here, the descent begins via the federal road to Mittersill. Following the Tauern bike path over Niedernsill, Piesendorf and the Lake Zell and the Glemmtal bike path back to Saalbach.
