Mozart's TRAINing

Climate-neutral sightseeing: from Saalbach to the Mozart city of Salzburg! A relaxed tour using public transport.

From Saalbach, follow the Glemmtal cycle path out of the valley. From Maishofen, continue along the Tauern cycle path to Saalfelden and Lofer. Shortly after Lofer, the cycle path runs beautifully along the Saalach, which is already much wider here than in the Glemmtal. Shortly after Unken, the route continues on German soil. You can switch to the B21 for the 2 km between Schneitzlreuth and the Saalach bridge, which saves you energy. We leave the Saalach reservoir on the right and quickly reach Bad Reichenhall. We suggest the beautiful route via Latschenwirt and Fürstenbrunn, but alternatively you can also take the more direct and flatter route towards the city of Salzburg via Walserberg.

Depending on how much time you have left in the day, Salzburg is a great place for sightseeing and soaking up the flair. Return from Salzburg to Zell am See by train (limited bike transport possible in REX and S-Bahn, extra ticket required!) to Zell am See and from there back to Saalbach by bike. Install the ÖBB Scotty app for timetables and tickets.
