Panorama Trail - Alternative Route

The Panorama Trail is the perfect trail running route in the mountains of Saalbach! This alternative variant avoids the summits, unlike the main route of the Panorama Trail.

The Panorama Trail - Alternative Route is like its big brother, the Panorama Trail, a truly unique and scenic trail run in Saalbach with everything a trail runner's heart desires. Ideally, you start at one of Europe's most modern gondola lifts, the 12er KOGEL lift, with a comfortable ride up. Once at the Zwölferkogel summit, you begin the enduring run over numerous peaks and hills to the Schattberg, where another gondola ride down the valley spares your joints. The panorama impresses with the Hohe Tauern in the south, featuring Großglockner, Großvenediger, and the limestone Alps in the north.

Along the entire route of the Panorama Trail - Alternative Route, you remain almost at a constant altitude of about 2,000 meters. Unlike the Panorama Trail, this route mainly targets alternative paths at the foot of each summit, so this run includes relatively few summit ascents.

The route is also recommended in the opposite direction.
