Snow trails

Winter sports fans used to love natural forest terrain. The naturally narrow tracks running along the edges of the forest and slopes, with plenty of waves and steep bends, were a sure-fire guarantee for action and fun. A welcome variety in the days before carving skis came around.

In the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn, these short, natural slopes are enjoying something of a comeback. Depending on snow conditions, there is a large number of so-called “snow trails” scattered throughout the ski area. The routes are determined by the topographical characteristics of the terrain. This means that the snow trains harmoniously match the landscape they are in, but are nevertheless always near the slopes.

Maximum fun on the slopes is guaranteed thanks to the natural features such as waves, bumps, and short sections through rough terrain, which are added with other elements such as steep bends, wave passages, small jumps and corners. Beach flags indicate the start of the snow trails. They are also marked on the ski area map too.

The fun factor isn’t at the expense of safety though. The snow trails give skiers and snowboarders the opportunity of learning how to adjust their speed to be appropriate for the specific track in a playful way, and to adjust to snow conditions of the terrain they find themselves in.

Note: Please understand that as the snow trails can be a small distance from the slopes, they are not covered by any snow making machines. This means that short trails rely 100% on natural snow covering. In the end, it is mother nature who decides whether the snow trails are open or not. Thank you for your understanding.
